Tokushima University – Technion Collaboration (4th round) – All scientific topics of mutual interest

Following a Memorandum of Understanding between the Nichia Corporation, Tokushima University (TU) and the Technion, Nichia Corporation intends to fund up to 5 joint research projects of researchers from TU and the Technion.

Research domains:  any scientific topic of mutual interest.

Funding: Projects are planned for two years with a total funding of $100K/year/project ($50K/year/PI).

Application process:

Stage 1. Registration (Deadline: May 31, 2026).  Each researcher submit Registration Form individually.  

The purpose of this step is to collect accurate researcher information and to aid forming collaborative research teams. This step is NOT for evaluation purposes.

If you have already formed your collaboration team, please indicate it in this form. If you are looking for new collaborator(s), please describe your collaboration idea and identify whom you would be interested in working with.

Step 2: Full-Proposal (Deadline: August 31, 2026)  You and your collaborators jointly submit one collaborative Research Proposal.

The proposal should be written in English, using the dedicated template. Please Email your Proposal to TISI office (tisi_office@tokushima-u.ac.jp) and CC. TRDF (ra-tec@TRDF.technion.ac.il).

One Pl can apply with up to two separate Collaborative Research Proposals.

Submitted Collaborative Research Proposals will be evaluated by the selection committee which consists of senior advisors from Technion, Nichia Corporation, and Tokushima University.

Selection Results will be announced in November 2026 . Research activities are expected to commence on January 1st, 2027 .
