Description:

The Foundation seeks rigorous research ideas that deepen understanding of ultimate reality, human nature, and our place in the world. Ideas may draw from diverse disciplines and should address one or more of the following core areas:

  1. The fundamental structures, constituents, and laws of the natural world.
  2. The nature of the human person and pathways to personal and societal well-being, including spiritual growth through virtues such as love, creativity, gratitude, forgiveness, and connection.
  3. The nature, essence, and purposes of transcendent divinity, and human responses to it.

Current priorities and funded projects exemplify, but do not limit, the range and types of topics of interest. A full description of the scope of activity is provided in the descriptions of the core funding areas:

* Big Questions in Science and in Religion:

(i) The Nature of the Human Person and the Potentials for Personal and Societal Well-Being,

(ii)  The Fundamental Structures, Constituents, and Laws of the Natural World,

(iii)  The Nature, Essence, and Purposes of Transcendent Divinity

* Applied research and education projects on key topics

(i) Genetics

(ii) Character Virtue Development

(iii) Genius

(iv) Individual Freedoms & Free Markets

(v) Voluntary Family Planning

Selected themes are expected to guide TWCF’s strategy and inform programmatic investments totaling USD $5–20 million over a 5–7 year period, helping to chart the Foundation’s next chapter of discovery.
