National MS society: Barancik Prize
Description:
The Barancik Prize recognizes an exceptional scientist or a team of scientists whose work in MS research demonstrates outstanding innovation and originality. The winner receives a $125,000 prize, to be used at the discretion of the recipient, and a $200,000 fellowship award for a trainee at the recipient’s institution.
The prize is administered by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A selection committee comprised of leaders in science, medicine, and MS advocacy will review nominees and evaluate:
- Exceptional innovation and originality in MS scientific research
- Impact and potential of the research to lead to pathways for the treatment and cure for MS
- Scientific accomplishments that merit recognition as a future leader in MS research
The award is intended for early to mid-career MS researchers. Nominees should have no more than 20 years of experience as an independent investigator to be eligible.
