Submission to the Research Authority: February 13th, Full Proposal Submission to the Ministry: March 9th
Objective: to develop advanced and practical technologies for energy storage and conversion, including highly efficient rechargeable batteries, hydrogen production systems, and fuel cells, with a focus on low cost, durability, and material availability. Proposals for applied research are invited, with preference given to those involving inter-institutional collaboration, in the following areas:
- Development of materials and technologies for energy conversion and storage.
- Enhancing technological readiness to enable industrial scaling and support energy industry development.
Proposal Requirements: Each proposal must have a Principal Investigator (PI) from their institution. Additional co-investigators from other institutions may be included. Each researcher may participate in up to 2 proposals: one as PI and one as a co-PI.
Budget: 256,400K NIS per year, for of up to 3 years (7.5% overhead included).
Internal Technion Submission Process: As each institution is limited to two proposals, the Technion will conduct an internal selection process as follows:
Preliminary proposals (4 pages +CV(s)) should be submitted by February 13th to ra-tec@trdf.technion.ac.il according to the following structure:
- Title, PI and co-PI names, and affiliations
- Research objectives and specific aims
- Description of the proposed research
- Significance, innovation, and potential benefits
- Applicability
- Budget: For each PI and co-PI – total requested.
- Bibliography
All the above is limited to 4 pages. In addition, include CVs with relevant publications (up to 2 pages) for each PI and co-PI. All documents should be submitted in a single PDF file.
