ARIA: Nature Inspired Computation – Olfactory Perception and Open Olfactory Resource

Looking for highly ambitious teams to change the path of digital olfaction, to build the shared data resource that will teach machines to smell. The world has rich chemical signals that could address many critical societal challenges, but this dataset does not exist yet.
* Open to researchers from outside the UK, however, ARIA’s primary focus is on funding UK-based entities, so international applicants must clearly demonstrate how their participation will strengthen UK capabilities and contribute to the program’s impact in the UK, for example through UK partners, infrastructure, data stewardship, hiring, or research activities.
Funding:
Stage 1: up to £500k grant per team –  the Sprint (3 month).
Stage 2: up to £25M per project (only teams chosen for stage 1 will be eligible for stage 2) – the OOR Build.
